Pecan Valley Inn

Pecan Valley Inn offers complete privacy (with a gated entrance) as you explore the natural beauty of lush fields, fishing ponds and walking trails through the wooded area around the inn located on the 2500 acre Lightning Rod Ranch.

Escape to this country getaway near Davis, Oklahoma. Pecan Valley Inn is conveniently located halfway between the Oklahoma City - Norman area and the Dallas - Forth Worth area. Amarillo, Little Rock, Tulsa, Wichita and Houston are all an easy 3-6 hour drive. The ranch is only 1-¼ miles west of I-35; close to Turner Falls Park, Lake of the Arbuckles and Chickasaw National Recreation Area in the Davis and Sulphur, Oklahoma area. Lake Murray State Park is just 25-30 minutes south over the Arbuckle Mountains to Ardmore, Oklahoma.

 
Rooms

Whether you spend the day relaxing on the wraparound porch of the bed and breakfast, hiking and mountain biking on the ranch, horseback riding and exploring Chickasaw National Recreation Area, antique shopping at nearby Davis and Sulphur, touring the Arbuckle Mountains, or swimming at Turner Falls Park, your guestroom is your haven of peace and privacy. Plush robes, specialty soaps, deep soaking tubs, and Southern hospitality pamper you in the quiet of the rural Oklahoma countryside.

Hunt Room

On cold days, the flames of the fireplace in The Hunt Room inspire relaxation in this comfortable room. Adorned with unusual rocks, fossils and quartz, the fireplace was updated in the 1950’s with the Youngblood’s new found “oil money”. An antique lawyer's bookcase holds a variety of books and a satellite television with a VCR will certainly add to your enjoyment. However, the the front porch seems to be the "drawing card" for most everyone. The Charalampous family, the innkeepers, proudly display hunting trophies on the hunter green walls. From the porch you might spot deer or wild turkey feeding in the pasture or squirrels and hummingbirds frolicking in the yard.

Victorian Garden Room

With its full-size, antique iron bed, is the most intimate bedroom in the house. The décor is feminine but never fussy. The warm white trunk, bed and lattice woven, split wood dresser and mirror add to the warmth of the room. A CD player/clock radio is also available. The bathroom features an antique, pedestal, iron bathtub for soaking. This bedroom may be reserved alone, if desired.

Meinders Suite

The Meinders Suite is named for the innkeeper’s parents, Hildred and Wesley Meinders, pioneer attorneys and ranchers. The large second floor suite features a queen bed facing the original oak and Italian tile fireplace. The flickering flames tantalize as you drift off to sleep. From the antique desk by the window you can overlook the second floor wraparound porch, the perfect spot for daydreaming or gazing out over the property. The adjoining sitting room has a comfortable divan and club chair for reading, napping, or watching satellite television which has a DVD/VCR. A CD player/clock radio is also available. The bathroom is relaxing with its antique claw foot tub with shower..

Miss Laura’s Room

The Miss Laura’s Room is a large, airy room with a pewter, queen bed and the original oak and Italian tile fireplace surround. By day, the room is lit by three lace covered bay windows and by night it sparkles in the light of a lovely, antique chandelier. An armoire with television, Queen Anne and Victorian chairs, Miss Laura's portrait along with family photographs suggests an atmosphere of subtle elegance. The bathroom has the original, oversized 6’ claw foot tub with shower. This room may be reserved alone with its private bath.

Dr Howell Room

The Dr Howell Room features an antique brass, double bed. A comfortable sitting area with a large leather chair and ottoman, wicker settee, rocking chair and armoire. the room is illuminated by three large windows overlooking the magnolia and pecan trees. Decorating the room is original Indian art, overflowing from the Indian art gallery lining the walls of the second floor hallway. This room is most often reserved as part of the suite, but it may be reserved as a single room if a group is willing to share the bathrooms on the second floor.
